2. Introduction to the discipline
"Traffic Information Engineering and Control" is a discipline that studies the basic theory and technology of collection, transmission, processing and control of railway, highway, waterway, aviation and other traffic information, as well as the application of electronic, communication, information and control technology in transportation engineering. It mainly relies on "Information and Communication Engineering", "Control Science and Engineering", "Computer Science and Technology" And coordinated development with the secondary disciplines such as "Vehicle operation Engineering", "Transportation Planning and Management", "Road and Railway engineering" under the first-level discipline of "Transportation Engineering".
The research scope of this discipline includes:
(1) Traffic information engineering and control system, such as system modeling and simulation, performance analysis and evaluation, system expansion and compatibility, etc.;
(2) Research on Key Technologies of traffic information engineering and control, such as information collection and processing, adaptive signal processing and algorithm, detection and estimation, information transmission, etc.;
(3) Theory and technology of intelligent transportation system (ITS), such as vehicle positioning and tracking, operation protection interval control, intelligent driving control, fault diagnosis and operation automation, etc.;
(4) Traffic information system, such as traffic information system analysis and design, communication protocol, network management and computer communication network, etc.;
(5) Transportation security and protection technology, such as traffic regulations, traffic safety, reliability theory, fault tolerance and error correction technology, ergonomics, etc.;
(6) traffic theory and traffic control, such as traffic flow theory, signal control scheme optimization and effect evaluation theory and method, traffic control simulation technology, etc.
From the perspective of technology composition, the core of this discipline is the application of IT technology in the field of transportation, which is a branch with the most development potential in the IT industry in a certain period in the future.
3. Introduction to the Department
The Department of Traffic information engineering and control of Jilin University has set up "Research Institute of traffic engineering" and "research and development center of intelligent transportation system". The main content of teaching and scientific research is the informatization and intellectualization in the field of traffic engineering and road transportation. Its predecessor was the automobile transportation Major founded in 1956. It was renamed the Department of transportation in May 1985 and the Department of traffic information engineering and control in 2001. In 2002, it was rated as the key discipline of Jilin Province, and in 2007 it was rated as the national key (cultivation) discipline. In 1998 and 2000, it was granted the right to confer master's degrees and doctor's degrees in traffic information engineering and control,respectively. And it shared postdoctoral mobile stations with other secondary disciplines.
The Department of traffic information engineering and control has a teaching and research team with a high academic level and reasonable structure. At present, there are 16 teachers, including 4 professors, 4 associate professors, 13 doctors and 2 masters.
Seven teachers went abroad for further study, more than 30 people attended international academic conferences at home and abroad, and foreign transportation experts were invited to give lectures and conduct academic exchanges. Through the construction of "211 Project" during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, the research directions of "intelligent transportation system", "traffic control", "Traffic Safety" and "Traffic Information Engineering" have been further strengthened.
The total value of various scientific research and experimental research equipment purchased by the national special funds and self-raised funds is nearly 20 million yuan, and the dynamic traffic information acquisition system, pavement condition detection system, traffic signal control simulation system, automatic traffic violation monitoring system, intelligent traffic monitoring and control system, GPS satellite positioning system, PTV traffic simulation system (engineering version) have been built. Also, the department self-developed traffic flow guidance systems, traffic accident scene rapid survey system, traffic accident reappearance and intelligent processing system, public transport dispatching and information query system, hybrid traffic adaptive signal control system, vehicle navigation system, etc., which greatly improved the teaching and scientific research means of this major and improved the quality of talents training.
In the Department of traffic information engineering and control, a number of teachers are also members of the discipline evaluation group of the State Council, executive directors of the China transportation system engineering society, judges of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, members of the national intelligent transportation system expert group, standing directors of the China Transportation Planning Research Association, science and technology consulting experts of public security traffic management in Jilin Province and Changchun City, standing editorial board members of core journals of transportation discipline such as China Journal of Highway and Transport, directors of China Communications Engineering Association, directors of China Road Traffic Safety Association, chairmen of Jilin Provincial Traffic Engineering Association, directors of China Communications Engineering Association, vice-chairmen of Youth Science and technology workers Committee of China Transportation Association, experts of the national smooth traffic engineering expert group, young experts of China Highway and Transportation Society, Organizing committee members of the first, second, third and fourth National Youth Academic Conference in the field of transportation, and directors of Changchun Urban Science Research Association.
In recent years, the department has won two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one third prize, one scientific research achievement awards of the United States Department of transportation, one first, second and third prize of Jilin Provincial Science and technology progress awards, one second prize and one third prize of science and technology progress awards of the Ministry of communications, one second and third prize of science and technology progress awards of the whole army, two science and technology progress awards of Daqing City, one second and third prize of teaching achievements of Jilin Provincial Education Commission, and six scientific research patents have been obtained.
Since 1996, the Department of traffic information engineering and control has completed more than 50 provincial and ministerial level projects, including more than 20 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863 program and 973 program, of which 2 are key projects of NSFC. Besides, the department published more than 10 academic monographs, professional teaching materials and scientific and technological reading materials, and published 200 high-level academic papers in core professional journals and famous international academic conferences, and more than 100 papers have been included in international famous collection systems such as SCI, EI and ISTP. At present, it has undertaken more than 10 projects above the provincial and ministerial level.
