A.Training Objectives:
Following the guidelines of "facing modernization, facing the world and facing the future" in education, to cultivate high-level professionals who can meet the needs of social, economic, scientific and technological development, the following requirements are put forward for postgraduate students of this major::
1. Master the basic theory of Marxism, love the motherland, abide by laws and disciplines, have good moral quality and strong dedication, and actively serve the socialist modernization.
2. Establish a scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts and being brave in innovation, and master solid basic theory and systematic expertise in road and bridge engineering; Master necessary experimental skills; With necessary practical engineering experience, can engage in scientific research work in the field of road and bridge engineering or independently undertake specialized technical work.
3. Master a foreign language and be able to apply it skillfully in your major.
4, have a healthy body.
B.Research Direction:
This major mainly sets up four research directions: dynamic optimization theory and application of bridge structure calculation, road material theory and experimental research, road engineering and disaster prevention, and road engineering reinforcement and detection. The main contents and leaders of each research direction are as follows:
1. Dynamic optimization theory and application direction of bridge structure calculation, academic leader Professor Liu Hanbing, mainly studies the theories and methods of computer-aided analysis and design of road and bridge structures, research on the dynamic characteristics of bridge structures and structural analysis and optimization design theory under dynamic load.
2. Theoretical and experimental research direction of road materials, academic leader Professor Cheng Yongchun, mainly studies performance modification research of road engineering materials, comprehensive design and experimental research of subgrade and pavement fiber composite materials, optimization design of mixture ratio, and pavement material performance evaluation.
3. The direction of road engineering reinforcement and detection: Professor Guo Xuedong, academic leader, mainly studies modern bridge detection methods and technologies, roadbed and pavement damage detection methods and technologies, bridge reinforcement technologies, roadbed and pavement repair methods and technologies.
4. The direction of road engineering and its disaster prevention, associate professor Dai Wenting, academic leader, mainly studies road structure design, roadbed and slope stability, design, evaluation and comprehensive treatment of road bridge and tunnel geological disaster prevention, road design and construction in special areas, and road environmental geological evaluation.

C.Study Fixed Number of Years and Time Allocation
Based on the credit system, the length of schooling is 3 years. You can apply for thesis defense only after completing the required credit requirements. The length of schooling of on-the-job personnel can be extended appropriately, but the extended period generally does not exceed one year. About half of the time is spent on course study and thesis work. The credit system is adopted for course study, and the total credits should be no less than 32 credits, including no less than 18 credits for compulsory courses. The course study and thesis work can be interleaved.
During the training period of graduate students, a semester registration system shall be implemented, and those who fail to register shall terminate the registration and filing of the contents in the next stage.

E.Literature Reading
Professional literature reading should be no less than 50, including foreign language not less than one-third, and submit 3 professional literature reports, each report should be no less than 15,000 words, these reports will be completed in the first academic year. The report will be reviewed by the instructor and the grade will be given. Qualified students will receive 1 required credit.
F.the Opening Report
Finish the topic selection before the end of the second semester, and hold the opening report meeting at the beginning of the third semester. This paper mainly discusses the research significance, current situation, research route and method, experimental equipment support conditions and so on of the proposed research subject. The opening report is reviewed by an examination group consisting of three or more associate professors, including the instructor, and decides whether to pass or not. Those who fail shall be retried within three months. Those who pass the proposal report will get 1 required credit.
G.Mid-term Assessment
During the thesis work, a mid-term assessment will be conducted. Mainly check the research content and work progress, and put forward specific requirements for rectification or re-opening according to the specific situation of those who fail.
H.Thesis Work
Thesis work is an important link in training postgraduate students to establish a rigorous style of scientific study, master the basic methods of scientific research and carry out scientific research independently.
The dissertation work of graduate students should include the following main links: professional literature reading, topic selection, thesis opening report, academic research, thesis writing, thesis defense and so on.
The thesis work should be interleaved with the course study, and the accumulated time of graduate students for scientific research and thesis writing should not be less than three semesters. The supervisor should fully grasp the progress of the graduate student's thesis work, and timely and necessary adjustments should be made to the thesis work plan according to the actual needs. The graduate student's thesis defense application should be submitted in advance according to relevant provisions, otherwise, it will not be accepted.
The supervisor should have a comprehensive grasp of the master's thesis and make the thesis plan according to the actual needs. The specific requirements of a master's thesis shall be implemented by the school's management regulations.
