On October 29th, 2019, a delegation of 6 people from Macquarie University including Professor David Wilkinson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Engagement), Professor Bernard Mans, Executive Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Ms. Nicole Brigg, Pro Vice-Chancellor（International）visited Jilin University.
Professor Yang Zhenbin, Chair of the University Council, Jilin University, met with the delegation. The two sides made positive and fruitful discussions on further strengthening cooperation between two universities, especially in-depth cooperation in the fields of audiology.
During the visit, Professor Zhao Hongwei, Vice President of Jilin University and David Wilkinson signed The Memorandum of Understanding between Macquarie University and Jilin University, and attended the unveiling ceremony of the Joint Audiology Center.
Representatives from the Third Hospital of Jilin University, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Graduate School, Office of Undergraduate Education and Office of Global Engagement attended the above-mentioned activities.
During the visit, the delegation held work meetings with faculty members and staff from the Third Hospital of Jilin University, International Center of Future Science, the School of Artificial Intelligence and the College of Automotive Engineering. The two sides held consultations on joint scientific research, co-construction of scientific research platforms and joint student training. Professor Bernard Mans made an academic report entitled “Vehicular Networks in Hyperfractal Urban Setting” for faculty members and students from the School of Artificial Intelligence and conducted in-depth communication with them on relevant research directions.
The delegation also visited Jilin University’s GSpeed Formula Racing Team Laboratory, Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory of College of Automotive Engineering, Engineering Training Center of Jilin University and Changchun FAW Hongqi Cultural Exhibition Hall.
